FRIDAY—AUGUST 27 Departing from Camden at 7 a.m., we’ll spend today getting to know each other and letting the excitement build as we travel thru Arkansas and into Texas. We’ll pass thru Hope, Arkansas (birthplace of President Clinton) as we travel down Interstate 30. We’ll arrive in Dallas, Texas just about suppertime where we’ll overnight for the next two evenings. (Meals included today: D). You will see a “Meals” guide at the end of the day’s events. “B” is breakfast, “L” is lunch, & “D” is dinner. Today, for example, dinner is included in your tour price. SATURDAY-AUGUST 28 This morning we’ll enjoy a hot breakfast before we depart for South Fork Ranch, home of J. R & Sue Ellen., Bobby & Pam, Jock & Miss Ellie and all the rest. This is a real home and a real ranch. You remember the drive way they always drove up in - the outdoor pool - the inside of the home. It’s really real. You’ll be able to see the home and J. R.’s automobiles and Miss Ellie’s gift shop. Then we’re off to Fort Worth, Texas. We’ll arrive in time to find a good spot for the Fort Worth longhorn herd cattle drive right down the city street as they prepare for the nightly rodeo at Billy Bob’s Texas, the world’s largest saloon. After the “parade” you’ll have “free time” to go into Billy Bob’s for the music, food, entertainment and “refreshments”. You’ll also want to shop in the Stockyard Station train depot where dozens of shops cater to almost every taste, especially western, and maybe visit the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame Museum (optional). After Fort Worth, we’ll head to Mesquite, Texas for the Southwest Championship Rodeo. You’ve all heard of the famous mesquite BBQ. Well, tonight we’re going to have an official Mesquite BBQ dinner. After dinner, we’ll find our reserved seats at the Southwest Championship Rodeo. Folks who follow the rodeo circuit know that the Southwest Championship Rodeo is the ‘best of the best”. A rodeo performer knows he or she has reached the top when they’re in this Championship. It’s the Super Bowl, the World Series or March Madness of their rodeo year and this is the final weekend of the season and we’ll be there. (Meals: B & D) SUNDAY-AUGUST 29 Today we’ll head on down to San Antonio, but not before visiting the infamous site known as Dealey Plaza where President John Kennedy was shot. We’ll stop for a moment to reflect & take photos. We’re now off to San Antonio where we’ll have a nice dinner and a good night’s rest before our busy day of touring the area tomorrow. We’ll check into our hotel in San Antonio directly on the Paseo del Rio (or River Walk) where we’ll stay for the next two evenings. You’ll have free time this evening to explore the beauty and shops of the River Walk area. (Meals: B & D ). MONDAY-AUGUST 30 A big breakfast is in store for us today before we leave for our tour of San Antonio. Of course, the highlight will be seeing the Alamo. But other wonderful sites and Missions are scheduled for today, also. After dinner tonight, a ride comparable to that on the canals of Venice will be ours to savor as we cruise through the heart of downtown San Antonio along the famous Paseo del Rio or River Walk area. (Meals: B) TUESDAY-AUGUST 31 You probably know by now that we’re famous for our Mystery Stops. Today, we do start our trip homeward, but we don’t come home tonight. We’re going somewhere else and I can’t tell you where. But I will say that you will enjoy good food, good music, good laughter and a good night’s sleep. (Meals: B & D) WEDNESDAY –SEPTEMBER 1 This morning, after breakfast, we’ll point our coach homeward arriving late afternoon.
