Trouble is, it takes months to get a reservation for a large tour group like ours during the Christmas holidays. We went to work on this one a couple of months ago and it’s now time for us to start taking your reservations. We’ll leave Camden from our departure location at the Wal Mart parking lot on Highway 641 in Camden and travel on our deluxe, luxury motor coach with reclining seats, large picture windows and an on-board rest room for your comfort.. We’ll arrive in Lynchburg (Pop. 361) in time for a delicious holiday lunch at Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding House. You’ve seen Ms. Lynn Tolley on Channel Five’s Talk Of The Town for years and her food looks delicious. And, it really is just about the best place to eat in the South and still serving good food at the same location since 1867. The atmosphere and entertainment from the staff keep bringing, not only the local folks in, but tour operators from all over the United States and as far away as Japan making this a “must do” when they come to our area. We’ll also have time to visit and shop the tiny little village of Lynchburg with its interesting antique and craft stores around its historic Court Square. Be sure to visit the little store called “Off The Beaten Path” and the old fashioned ice cream parlor. Then, after lunch, it’s on to Jack Daniel’s Distillery, the oldest registered distillery in the United States. You’ll see how they make the charcoal they use and learn how they make “the recipe”. Be sure to visit the tiny little office Jack Daniel ran his company from until his death. Just getting to and from Lynchburg from the Interstate is a treat in itself as we travel thru Walking Horse Country and see those beautiful walking horse farms with their million dollar stables and barns.
