THURSDAY—AUGUST 27TH Departing from Camden at 7 a.m., we’ll spend today getting to know each other and letting the excitement build as we travel thru West Tennessee & into Arkansas. The Mighty Mississippi Bridge & The Pyramid in Memphis will greet us early Thursday morning to let us know that we’re officially on our way. We’ll “do lunch” in Little Rock at a large shopping Mall before continuing on to Eureka Springs area where we’ve got a great dinner awaiting our arrival.. Afterwards, we’ll settle into our clean and comfortable rooms for the evening. We’ ll need a good night’s rest because our Friday is packed full of fun and adventure. (Meals included today: D). You will see a “Meals” guide at the end of the day’s events. “B” is breakfast, “L” is lunch, & “D” is dinner. Today, for example, dinner is included in your tour price. FRIDAY—AUGUST 28TH After breakfast, we’ll get to know Eureka Springs from one end to the other, and what a beautiful town it is! Aptly named “America’s Victorian Village”, it’s the only city in the country whose entire downtown area is on the National Register of Historic Places. This will be an exciting day. First we’ll visit Thorncrown Chapel, a 50 ft. tall “all glass” church in the wilderness. It’s been given one of the top four best design award of the century. You will just have to see it to believe it. Then it’s on to downtown Eureka Springs where you will have the opportunity to visit the quaint shops & charming Victorian architecture combined with the breathtaking scenery & fantastic restaurants that have made Eureka Springs a favorite destination for more than 100 years. This weekend is also the big Volkswagen weekend in Eureka Springs. Hundreds of VW will be on display and driving thru town. From the brand new ones to some of the best restored cars from the late 40’s and early 50’s. After lunch we’ll return to Biblical times on a two and one half hour narrated tour through the wooded hillsides of The Great Passion Play complex. Traveling by tram, you’ll visit more than 40 exhibits including the world’s only known, life size reproduction of Moses’ Tabernacle in the Wilderness. You’ll also see the Christ in the Ozarks Statue; an actual section of the Berlin Wall; Church in the Grove & Smith Memorial Chapel. Who’s not heard their friends talk of the marvels of the Great Passion Play? See for yourself the incredible story of the Man who changed the world forever in this two-hour epic performance of the greatest story ever told. Set in an impressive 4,100-seat outdoor amphitheater in the beautiful Ozarks, The Great Passion Play has been enjoyed by more than six million people through more than 30 years of performances. You’ll hardly be able to wait until Sunday morning to share what you have just experienced with your Sunday School class and fellow Church members.
